As a Media student, you have access to the camera room where the Media department houses it’s DSLR cameras, JVC cameras and now its new arrival the Cannon XC-15.
The XC-15 is a camcorder that stands out. Some of the camera’s key features: 12MP, shoots UHD 4k up to 29.97 fps video, 12 stops of dynamic range and compact form factor. It primarily functions as a news and video production camera that is capable of 4k video rare in such a lightweight camera.
The inclusion of having built-in XLR audio inputs also allows for this camcorder to record sounds on different tracks and gives the user the ability to mix them later rather than being stuck with on audio file that is a combination of several sounds. This feature creates a better workflow in post-production editing.
The XC-15 is a great fit for anyone doing handheld editorial work and those filming controlled situations.
This is one way the Media department is showing its commitment to its students.
