In Professor Vota’s Visual Design and Layout class, students were to use Adobe After Effects to create an info graphics project. Students were provided with an audio clip about airplane crash statistics. The goal was the create engaging visuals that would follow the subject and structure of the audio. As Professor Vota notes, the coupling of imagery with audio aids tremendously with communicating complex ideas to an audience and aids in moving knowledge from short-term to long-term memory, which is essential when trying to help people learn information since entertainment is a strong contributor in that process.
