Digital Media Arts graduate student creates logos, ads in Graphic Design Process course

Emily Wooddell is a second year graduate student in the Digital Media program. Wooddell recently took adjunct professor Shawn O’Mara’s Graphic Design Process course. In this class, through vector-based programs such as Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, students applied theories of balance, contrast, perspective, color and other graphic design concepts. In addition, graphic file formats were discussed along with their relative merits and disadvantages.

For the first project, students were to design a logo and then create mock-ups. Wooddell created a logo for Hopalong Brewery, a fictional brewing company. Below you can see her logo and the application she created.

The final project was to create a marketing campaign for an already established business. Wooddell chose Maybelline and her campaign was for the New Icon Series, as seen below.
