The Society of Professional Journalists and the McAnulty School of Liberal Arts hosted Josh Gillin from the Tampa Bay Times and Mila Sanina from PublicSource for a panel discussion on media literacy and battling fake news on Tuesday, January 23rd. Recent Duquesne Media graduate and current Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Julian Routh moderated the event and asked such questions about how fake news is defined, how it is identified, and how the average person can fight against it. Over 60 people showed up for the event and Duquesne Duke news editor Raymond Arke wrote an article for the current Duquesne Duke issue.
