Pittsburgh Team Handball Club hosts Handball tryouts

By Jacques Hinkson-Compton, second year graduate student in the Digital Media program

Students enrolled in the Public Relations Campaigns course taught by Professor Bob Healy, III were tasked with developing a public relations campaign for their client, the Pittsburgh Team Handball Club.

“Seeing Pittsburgh Team Handball Club [PTHC] grow is the most exciting thing about our campaign,” said senior Psychology major and Public Relations minor Annegret Nehl. “The main goal is to promote handball as an Olympic sport and attract new players for the team. We would like the PTHC to succeed and the team grow.”

Members of the group include Deanna Dicesere, a senior Digital Media Arts/Public Relations major with a minor in Psychology; Elisa Elias, a senior Public Relations/Advertising major with a minor in Journalism; and Ashley Sestric, a senior Public Relations major with a minor in Psychology.

“Our group consists of individuals with an athletic background,” says Nehl. “Therefore, working for a startup organization and an upcoming sport in America fits our strength perfectly.”

The Pittsburgh Team Handball Club (PTHC) and the Duquesne Power Center invites students of all genders and years to come try out for the Handball club. The event is free to Duquesne University students and includes a “How To” session for the game. The tryouts will be held on Tuesday, April 10 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the third floor of the Duquesne Power Center. For any additional questions you can contact Anni Nehl at Nehla@duq.edu.
